Leslie Kerrigan is the Champion of February 2012′s FPC Main Event. The Monthly £300+£30 Buy-In Two Day No Limit Hold’em Tournament attracted 141 entries this month who battled it out for the £42,300 prizepool. Les took home £12,615 for his first place finish and the result marks a return to tournament poker for the professional who has been concentrating on cash game play recently.
The final table feature no fewer than two Fox Poker Club Champions. Leon Louis was looking to repeat the feat he achieved twelve month’s ago in February 2011. Chris Gordon is the reigning Champion of the London Calling Poker Festival which returns to the club in April. Les Kerrigan opens first to act raising to 50,000. Morgan Sorfleet passes on his button. Mario Lazarou calls in the small blind before Chris Gordon moves All-In from the Big Blind for his half a million in chips.
Les Kerrigan start to chat – “You better get your pen and paper ready!” he shouts over to us. He asks for an approximation of Chris’s stack and then for Mario’s “In case you want to get involved”.
He eventually calls and Mario’s cards are in the muck as they go to showdown. When Chris sees Les’s holding he is aghast – “Were you every going to fold?”
“Probably not!” comes the reply, “But I never make snap decisions”
