Georges Tohme (28), was crowned London’s Finest Poker Player this weekend at the London Calling Poker Festival at the Fox Poker Club in Association with PKR. The property developer from South-West London beat a 93 player field to the lion’s share of a £46,500 prize pool taking home £15,040.

The Festival awarded over £75,000 in prizes over this Bank Holiday weekend attracting some of the best poker players from around London and the UK. The festival included £200 Six Max and £150 Side Events. London professionals Joe Beevers and Barny Boatman of poker’s “Hendon Mob” were in attendance with Barny reaching the final table of the Main Event.

The Fox Poker Club in Association with PKR will shortly be celebrating its first birthday and in less than a year has established itself as a premier poker venue committed to its mission to provide a poker environment suitable for everyone, regardless of their experience level.

This weekend the Fox Poker Club is hosting it’s monthly £300+£25 FPC Main Event. Qualify now in satellites online with PKR and LIVE at the club. The tournament which is now played to a finish in two days begins on Saturday at 3pm and attracted a 148 player field last month who played for a £44,400 prize pool. It follows closely on the heels of the successful London Calling Mini-Festival over the Bank Holiday weekend where over £75,000 in tournament prizes were won.

It’s time for the FPC Main Event at the Fox Poker Club. Last month the tournament attracted a field of 148 players and was won by Hakim Bouzoura who secured a deal with club regular James “Barney” Koumis.
In between then and now the club hosted the London Calling Bank Holiday Mini-Fest. With over £75,000 won over that weekend the rumour is that London Calling will return for a longer outing – this time over two weekends with a host of side events including HORSE, Heads-Up and Pot Limit Omaha. Watch out for that 29th October to 6th November.
If you are still considering playing there is late registration officially available until 5:30pm but beware – we are expecting the event to sell out so get to the club as early as you can. Also on the table is Jen-Yue Chiang who regularly makes deep runs in the events at the club including securing a chop for a £6,000 piece of the pie in May’s FPC Main Event… who is sitting next to Mohammed Haque who ran deep in the London Calling Mini-Fest Main Event a few weeks ago. The players start with a stack of 22,000. The blinds go up every 45 minutes and the players will have 40 minute dinner break at around 7pm.

In an early hand PKR Online Qualifier Ellie Gudger took a pot of a few thousand from Joe Grech. When asked if he had lost his dealer bonus chips yet he quipped: “Only when I’ve lost down to 11,000 will I start to play properly”. When it was highlighted that Ellie had most of his missing chips she smiled and offered some consolation, “I’m just keeping them warm for you”.
