The monthly Main Event at Fox Poker Club attracted 146 of the UK’s poker players to the poker venue in the heart of London to play the £300 entry two day tournament. The prizepool was guaranteed at £25,000 but reached a whopping £43,800. Jen-Yue Chiang was the eventual winner taking home over £10,000 and the title. The 36 year old American based in London came close to being crowned champion previously making five final tables in this event but never reaching the top spot before today.
Jen-Yue emerged as champion after being tournament shortstack on the money bubble. He asserted his control on the final table by eliminating many of the players including Frederick Gautrin of France in 9th place, Adolf Ventel in 8th place and Kenny Halaert of Belgium in 7th place.
He gained a strong position on the final thanks to a set-over-set on the flop against Krzysztof Jaromin. Chiang’s name was etched on the trophy when he made a straight against eventual runner up George Achillea on the river card to win a pot of over 2 million chips. Jen won the final hand holding pocket Jacks after the shortstacked Achillea had bet All-In with King-high.

Last month at Fox Poker Club was a bumper one as the club challenges for the title of London’s busiest cardroom. The second leg of the Genting Poker Series far exceeded its £100,000 Guarantee with a final prizepool of £232,000. If you didn’t play it – you must be the only one! The eventual champion was Albert Sapiano who beat the 580 player field to the title. The following weekend the London Calling Festival over the Bank Holiday crowned it’s second champion of the month. This time it was George Alexander who took down the top prize in the £50,000 Guaranteed Main Event which had a slight overlay as it fell short of the required players. Far from being upset about the overlay we at the Fox love the opportunity to give some money to our valued members!
After a month filled with poker festivals the Fox Poker Club is settling back into its normal tournament schedule of buy-ins ranging every week from £20 up to £100. To show how dedicated to our daily tournaments as we are our festivals we are offering £200,000 in Guaranteed Prizepools this spring.
Play the new Fox Rake Race running throughout May and June! Collect points by playing in £1-£1 or £1-£2 Cash Games (spread every night) to build a stack for the freeroll final with a projected £20,000 prizepool.
