London’s only dedicated poker venue bought by casino giant
Fox Poker Club today announces that Genting Casinos have acquired London’s only dedicated poker venue for an undisclosed sum. The club was founded by Chris North and Ian Hogg in 2005 after seeing a space in the market for a poker club due to the demand created by the online poker revolution.
The club was granted a full UK Casino licence in 2008 and it opened in September 2010 after securing fundraising of around £1 million. The establishment now employs over 80 staff and has over 20,000 members in just over 12 months. The club continues to make a healthy profit and is experiencing record week-on-week trading.
The Fox Poker Club is London’s only fully licensed and dedicated poker club, situated on the world famous Shaftesbury Avenue in the heart of London’s West End.
Chris North, Managing Director of Fox Poker Club, comments:
“It was always a dream of mine to open a poker club in London and although it’s been a real challenge, with delayed openings and not getting our 24 hour licence until July this year, I’m extremely proud of what we’ve achieved. The club is in a great position to continue growing and we are very pleased that it is passing to such good hands. We wish the club and Genting all the success in the future.”

October’s champion of the Tournament Leaderboard is Barney Koumis, he win’s an entry into December’s FPC Main Event which is Saturday December 3rd at 3pm. He beat Katt Wann to the title on the last tournament of the month after they started October 31st tied for first place.

Chris Gordon Main Event Champion Won £17,000
Chris Gordon (25), was crowned London’s Finest Poker Player this weekend at the London Calling Poker Festival. The stockbroker originally from Southend beat a field of 120 entrants to the lion’s share of the £60,000 prize pool £500+£40 Main Event. His girlfriend Maria cheered him on to victory and was the first to congratulate him on winning £17,000 from the £550 investment of the tournament entry.
The London Calling Festival comprised over seven events spread over the past week and awarded over £100,000 in prizes. Side Events included HORSE, Pot Limit Omaha, Six-Max and Heads-up Events. For results see the London Calling page here:

The Fox Poker Club in Association with PKR celebrated its first birthday in September and in less than a year has established itself as a premier poker venue committed to its mission to provide a poker environment suitable for everyone, regardless of their experience level. Over 20,000 poker players have joined the Fox Poker Club since it opened.
The club provides cash action 24 hours a day including the Thursday Big Game a £2-£5 No Limit Hold’em game with the ludicrously low rake of 5% capped at £5. Over 20 poker tournaments are held each week and at the beginning of each month Fox Poker Club runs a £300 FPC Main Event – next held Saturday 3rd December.
